I’m only three seasons deep into Supernatural (and loving it!) but I couldn’t help notice some parallel episodes with The X-Files.
This is not a dig on Supernatural since their episodes are wholly unique to their characters and storylines (not to mention the two shows share producer Kim Manners, may he rest in peace.)
Under the cut is a list of the similar in premise episodes. I avoided such vague premises as ‘the vampire episode’ or the ‘werewolf episode’. Some beyond-minor spoilers ahead (to be honest, I just wanted to be safe)…
“You know when sometimes you meet someone so beautiful and then you actually talk to them and five minutes later they’re as dull as a brick? Then there’s other people, when you meet them you think, “Not bad. They’re okay.” And then you get to know them and… and their face just sort of becomes them. Like their personality’s written all over it. And they just turn into something so beautiful.”—Amy Pond (Karen Gillan); The Girl Who Waited, Doctor Who (6.10)
“Stories you read when you’re the right age never quite leave you. You may forget who wrote them or what the story was called. Sometimes you’ll forget precisely what happened, but if a story touches you it will stay with you, haunting the places in your mind that you rarely ever visit.”—Neil Gaiman (via kstewarts)
